Another year, another new set of pride headcanons based on a FE game I’ve played! This time around, we’ve got Echoes, but if you want to see Awakening, Fates, Three Houses, or Engage, they’re all here. As I’m still experiencing the game, there are potentially points where I might be slightly off-base, but hey. It’s all for fun anyway, and I’m perfectly happy to update things if I notice there’s any changes.

Please be kind and remember that it’s all in the name of celebration — it’s okay to not agree with my hcs (sometimes I might not, too — I fluctuate on some of these!), but be polite about it. There’s room for everyone in need under the rainbow. Thank you!

Celica is bisexual with a masc lean

Mae is a trans woman who uses she/they, and she bisexual with a masc lean.

Boey is on the aroace spectrum with a positive view on relationships and is mspec.

Genny is a trans woman who use she/her and is a lesbian.

Saber is a trans man who uses he/they, and he’s pansexual.

Valbur is bisexual with a heavy fem lean. It takes him a long time to realize this.

Leon is canonically gay

Kamui is gay

Catria is a lesbian

Jesse is trans masc and uses any pronoun. He doesn’t label his sexuality, and he is only attracted to women.

Atlas is gay

Sonya is on the aroace spectrum in a negative view on relationships.

Deen is a trans man who uses he/him, and he’s on the aroace spectrum and is gay.

Conrad is gay

I need to finish writing Leon's bio (Violetta's is done, at least), but I agonized so long over whether his wife Grace was still alive or not. The real-life leader of Scientology has a wife who hasn't been seen in public in over a decade and Leon has a situation inspired by that. The reader (and Newt) is supposed to think she's dead at first and eventually Newt finds her at the cult compound he's held captive at. I thought it made more sense for her to be dead but I really wanted her to be alive and ultimately decided more female characters around to be interesting was the better choice 🙏

This is a rough sketch of their wedding photo. It's all you see of her until the reveal that she's alive. She's not dead but is super traumatized and ultimately pulls the trigger and kills Leon (when Newt talks Camille down from it, in a writing choice wholesale stolen from Doctor Who.)

Leon's a bad dude. So is Violetta, but she ultimately gets kind of redeemed (kind of) and Leon stays a bad dude forever until he dies. Newt is super heroic and he's both my primary muse and the main character for a reason, but I really enjoy writing villains. And all my stories are about obsessive love because of my own personal issues, but if you can't put your personal obsessions and fears into your OCs, why even have OCs?
